Who we are
Vegan Shopping Centre (vegan-supermarket.uk) is run by Brian Muskett, a sole trader, at 13 Carlisle Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 4BT, United Kingdom. Email: hello@vegan-supermarket.uk. We decide how your personal data is used, so we’re responsible for it under UK data protection law.
What we collect and why
- Messages you send us (name, email address, your message), so we can reply. Legal basis: legitimate interests (answering your enquiry).
- Website usage data (pages visited, device, browser, approximate location), through Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. Legal basis: your consent.
You don’t have to give us any personal data to use the site. If you don’t give us an email address, we will be unable to reply to you.
Affiliate links
Some links, marked with *, are affiliate links. If you click one, the affiliate network (such as Awin or Rakuten Advertising) or the shop’s own affiliate system may use cookies or similar technology to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission. Where these cookies are set through our site, we only use them if you agree to them in our cookie settings. Some networks may also ask for your consent when you click. Awin treats us and itself as joint controllers for its tracking, and Awin’s privacy notice explains how it handles your data. Other networks and shops handle tracking under their own privacy policies. We don’t receive your name, contact details or payment details. We only see sale information such as the date, order value and our commission.
Who we share data with
These services process data for us under contract: our web host Hostinger and Google (analytics). We don’t sell your data.
Data outside the UK
Google may store data in the United States. Google is certified under the UK–US data bridge. You can ask us for more details.
How long we keep it
- Emails and messages: 2 years after our last contact, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint or legal claim.
- Analytics: 2 months for user-level data (a Google Analytics setting). Summary reports with no personal details may be kept longer.
Your rights
You can ask us, free of charge, to:
- give you a copy of your data
- correct it
- delete it
- restrict how we use it
- give it to you or someone else in a portable format
Some rights apply only in certain situations. For example, portability applies only to data we hold with your consent. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, including by clicking the cookie icon.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time, and we’ll stop unless we have a strong reason to continue.
To make a request, email hello@vegan-supermarket.uk. We’ll reply within one month. If the request is complex, we may extend this by up to two months and will tell you why. We’ll only ask for proof of identity if we need it, and the month starts once we have it.
Complaints
You have the right to complain to us about how we handle your data. Email hello@vegan-supermarket.uk. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and deal with it without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Cookies
We only use non-essential cookies, such as analytics, if you agree. Our Cookie Policy lists them. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the cookie icon.
